Inkheart.

I had the opportunity this week to go and watch the movie Inkheart (it was my first date for the semester!) Inkheart was directed by Iain Softley and stars Brendan Fraser and Lord of the Rings' Andy Serkis (aka Gollum). I find it interesting that Cornelia Funke wrote the book with Brendan Fraser in mind for the lead roll and here he is actually play it! Isn't that cool? Anyway, the movie was good. I really liked it. It's PG and I believe it only has two cuss words (just in case you were worried).

Inkheart is a story about a Father who, when he reads books aloud, makes the characters come to life. Upon reading aloud something from the book leaves the pages on which it was written and enters our world, while something from our world enters into that of the book. The graphics, in my opinion, were excellently done. In regard for its age group it was very well done. Grade wise I think I'd give it a B+. My favorite quote is when the villain (Gollum) says: "Why would we ever want to go back when your world is so accommodating with your telephones and your guns and what's that sticky stuff called ...oh yes, duct tape. I just love duct tape!"
