It was suppose to be stormy today -a high chance of rain -but because it's Mesa, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We got a good breeze though. It's been in the lower seventies all afternoon. Sunny with just a touch of wind. The kind of weather I like!
Anywho. Today we went out to the desert. It really didn't look like I had imagined. I always pictured tall green cactus' spaced out, with maybe a tumble weed blowing by and a dusty ground as far as the eye could see, but this desert wasn't like that at all. There were houses all the way back to the mountains. The so called "desert" that my family was referring to had been put over with houses. It wasn't very fascinating. Lost of gravel, cactus-brush crowded in the fields, and mountains in the background -those were pretty but they sort of blended in with the sky.
After that we went to the cemetery where my uncle and great grandma were buried. The cemetery was very pretty; with trees spaced out along the ground and the shade making the air cooler. There were no headstones, just plaques set in the ground. The only way I could tell it was a cemetery was all the flowers sticking up. As we walked to the plaques I found that I was enjoying myself. I stepped off the walkway and followed the crowd of family members through the cemetery.
It all happened so quickly. I saw it first out of the corner of my eye and then suddenly it was the only thing I could see! I had to shut my eyes as the cold liquid shot me in the face. I screamed and stepped back as far as I could. What was happening?? Why was I all wet?
It was the sprinklers. They had turned on and managed to wet down three of the six of us. It was funny. Not even five minutes later they turned off. Anyway, I thought it was very funny. We were all laughing. I got the full blast of it, though. Figures. :P

I am glad that these things happen only because I love the way you write about it. If I was there I couldn't laugh (until you did) I would run and get you a towel. This way I can laugh and enjoy the whole thing. Thank you, you are too funny.
